Every Medigap plan is standardized by the United States Government. This means a Plan F from one company is going to be the same as a Plan F from a different company. The key difference between carriers is the price point.

We want you to connect with the cheapest Medicare Supplement plan out there. To help, we have outlined some of the most popular carriers, like Members Health Insurance Company.

The History of Members Health Insurance Company

Members Health Insurance Company, or MHI, is a subsidiary of Farm Bureau Health Plans - which has been in the business since 1966. This is longer than any other insurance carrier has been serving the needs of Medicare enrollees.

Farm Bureau Health Plans, MHI’s parent, has been in business since 1921. So, for nearly a century, this insurer has been making life better - and more secure - for its policyholders. Within the first 25 years that the insurer was in business, it grew to become the largest Farm Bureau in the country.

The company’s mission is to offer both dependable and uncomplicated methods of saving money on health care coverage. It does so by providing numerous options for Medicare Supplement insurance coverage, as well as with Medicare Part D.

The customers who purchase coverage through Members Health Insurance Company can benefit from very affordable rates. One reason for this is because the company has an excellent reputation for managing its administrative expenses - which in turn, allows it to pass down the savings to its policyholders.

Other Products and Services Offered

Members Health Insurance Company also offers a line of Medicare Part D prescription drug plans. (Depending on the state you live in).

Medicare Part D is a plan that offers coverage for prescription medication. Similar to with Medicare Supplement insurance plans, these policies are not sold directly by Medicare, they are sold through private carriers. The benefits that are available can differ from one Plan D to another, depending on where the plan is purchased.

Those who obtain their Medicare coverage through can get Part D coverage, which helps pay for prescriptions and works with Supplemental plans.

Farm Bureau Health Plans, the parent company of Members Health Insurance Company, offers an additional product, the Dental / Vision +65. This is a dental and vision plan that can also help to “fill in” the gaps that are left by Medicare in these particular areas.

The plan covers between 50 and 80 percent on a variety of different dental care needs - depending upon the procedure. There is an annual maximum (which in 2017, is $1,500), as well as a $100 deductible. The dental coverage on this plan is offered through the Delta Dental network.

The vision coverage in this plan includes a $15 copayment for an annual vision examination, as well as a $35 copayment on prescription eyeglasses. There are, however, certain coverage limitations that are placed on glasses frames and / or on certain brands.
